"Decent site, but it can be frustrating"
I use jhu.edu often and, to be fair, it usually gets the job done. I can find most of what I’m looking for, and the pages load fine most of the time. Still, I was kind of disappointed by how dated and clunky some parts feel, especially on my phone. A few sections are confusing to navigate, and sometimes it takes way too many clicks just to reach something useful. It’s not awful, but I expected the site to feel a bit more polished and consistent.

"Easy enough to use, but a little crowded in spots"
The site is easy to get around, and I was able to find what I needed without digging through a million menus, which is always a win. That said, a few pages feel like someone tried to cram every possible thing onto the screen at once. Like, just let the page breathe a little. But overall, it works fine and didn’t make me want to give up, so I’ll take it...

"Fair grading in my classes"
I took a few online courses through John Hopkins Carey, the grading felt fair to me. The rubrics were clear enough to follow, and when I lost points, it usually made sense. Isn’t that really what you want in an online class?
There was one time I asked about a grade, and I got a normal, helpful reply instead of some vague response. Was everything perfect every single week? No, but overall the consistency was solid, and I’d give it 5 stars for that.

"Alumni network ended up being more useful than I expected"
I didn’t think the alumni network would matter that much after graduation, especially once I was kind of just figuring things out on my own, but Hopkins has actually been really helpful there.
I reached out to a few people through John Hopkins Carey and LinkedIn, and surprisingly, they got back to me with advice, introductions, and even some resume feedback. I had assumed it would feel awkward, but it really didn’t.
The site itself can feel a little cluttered sometimes, and I’m probably missing a few parts of how it’s all supposed to work, but the actual people in the network are the main value. It’s nice still feeling connected after leaving campus.

"Admissions was easier than I thought"
I applied to JHU the whole process went smoother than I expected. The steps were easy to follow, so I didn’t feel too lost. The portal updates helped me know what was going on, and because the emails came quickly enough, I wasn’t left guessing for long.

"Easy to find, just bad timing on my part"
The info was clear and easy to find, which I really appreciated. I think I just happened to be looking at a bad time, so it took me a little longer than expected, but overall it was helpful.

"Great professors, but getting help can be a bit hit or miss"
I’ve had a good experience with the faculty at jhu.edu overall. The professors definitely know their stuff, and a lot of the course materials were actually useful and easy to learn from. I felt like I was getting solid information most of the time. Then suddenly, yeah, it can get kind of frustrating. Sometimes it feels a little distant, and getting a clear answer or a quick reply isn’t always easy. Still a good experience, just not flawless.

"Solid spot if you're willing to dig a little"
I had a good experience looking for research opportunities through John Hopkins Carey. There are a ton of labs and projects happening, and if you read between the lines a bit, you can usually tell which professors are actually open to taking on students. In my experience, professors do respond when you reach out with thoughtful questions instead of a generic email. It’s not perfect, and you do have to put in some effort, but overall it’s a really solid place for research.

"Really helpful support for students"
I had a good experience with them. The advisors got back to me quickly through email, and they made everything feel a lot less confusing. I also liked having the receipts and messages saved so I could look back at what was discussed. Overall, really solid student help.

"Pretty solid food options around campus"
I’ve been happy with jhu dining. There are a lot of choices, and the lines usually move fast, oh, and the coffee spots are a lifesaver between classes. It’s just nice not having to overthink where to grab something during the day.

"Pretty much worth it for me"
JHU definitely isn’t cheap, but for me, it felt like the value was more or less there. The classes were solid, the support was strong, and the online setup on jhu.edu was easy enough to figure out after a little bit. I’d say I got a bit more out of it than I originally expected, so overall, around 5 stars from me

"Registration was fine, but kind of annoying"
I tried registering on John Hopkins Carey and it worked for the most part, but a couple of the steps were more confusing than they needed to be. I had to go back twice to fix information, which got old fast. It wasn’t a disaster or anything, but I definitely don’t have the patience for a sign-up process that makes me second-guess what I just entered.

"Actually useful scholarship info"
I was poking around jhu.edu looking for scholarship stuff, i kind of expected to get annoyed fast. Like, okay, here we go, probably one vague page with a bunch of links that don’t say much. But it was actually easy to find clear info about aid, grants, and different scholarship opportunities.

There’s definitely still a lot to read through, so it’s not like I was done in five minutes or anything. But the options felt real and not buried somewhere impossible to find, which made me think, okay, this is at least manageable. It made the college search feel a little less overwhelming

"Easy-to-find mental health support at JHU"
I was relieved by how easy it was to find the counseling links through JHU (no digging around forever, thankfully). The resources were straightforward and actually helped me figure out where to start when I needed support.

"I used the career services through jhu.edu a..."
I used the career services through jhu.edu a few times, and it was a mixed experience. A couple of the advisors were really helpful with cleaning up my resume and pointing me toward job links, but other times it took a while to hear back and the advice felt generic. I also felt a little pressured at times to follow certain paths or apply to things that didn’t really fit what I wanted. The events were okay, but not always that relevant to my field. Overall, it wasn’t bad, I just expected more from Hopkins

"Well... I had a good experience..."
Well... I had a good experience with academic advising at JHU. My advisor actually took the time to listen, helped me figure out which classes made the most sense, and usually got back to my emails quickly. It made planning my semester a lot less stressful than I expected. Not everything was perfect, but overall I felt supported and I’d give it 5 stars

"Nice campus, but some buildings were confusing"
I visited the Homewood campus recently and had a good experience overall. The libraries had plenty of places to study, the labs looked like they were well taken care of, and most of the common areas were clean. I also liked that it was easy to find food spots nearby. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that some of the buildings were confusing to navigate at first. Did anyone else have the same issue finding their way around?

"Pretty easy to get around, honestly"
JHU is in a really convenient part of Baltimore, at least in my experience. The buses and shuttles were easy to figure out, and getting to campus by train or rideshare never felt like a huge hassle. Parking can definitely be annoying sometimes, but I feel like that’s kind of expected in a city, right? Overall, I thought the location made getting around campus and the area simple.

"Really solid programs overall"
The classes can definitely be tough, but they feel worth it. Most of my professors really seem to know what they’re talking about, and the programs feel well thought out. It’s not always easy, but I guess that’s kind of the point, so...

"Helpful, but I’m still a bit skeptical"
I found some decent internship links on the site, and it does seem useful for students. That said, I couldn’t help wondering how often everything gets updated, because stuff like this can go outdated fast. Still, it’s a good place to start if you’re looking for internship options.
